Staten Island is the most suburban of the five NYC boroughs, with predominantly single-family detached and semi-attached homes throughout the borough. The South Shore (Tottenville, Great Kills, New Dorp) was heavily impacted by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and many homes still have post-Sandy garage door installations now reaching their first major service interval.
Most Common Issues We See in Staten Island
South Shore Staten Island sees significant salt-air corrosion — galvanized hardware is standard for these. Post-Sandy raised homes often have non-standard door heights. Inland and North Shore Staten Island sees typical suburban wear: springs, openers, occasional cable issues. We do a lot of full system upgrades on 10-12 year old post-Sandy installations.
Service Coverage in the Staten Island Area
We service all of Staten Island including the North Shore, East Shore, South Shore, and Mid-Island. Same-day service is standard, though service in the South Shore sometimes takes 2-3 hours due to ferry/bridge traffic.
